Eh?
Heres a suggestion:
Every time a person clears 100 Points for instance, when they get to scoring 100 points twice the user can pick which weapon they want. So that means ppl will most like want the H-Gun for the first time and then the second time they can pick watever they want from the 2nd 100 point weapon menu.
Make sense?
Makes sense, but remember, for certain weapons you have to fill out a certain requirement. So, sure, the negation cannon may be worth 500 points, however, in order for you to choose it you have to get 500 points total with only the X-gun, and X-rifle. Meaning certain weapons will not be available to them even when they unlock the 500 point weapon menu. Also, this means that logically, even if they are on their 8th clear, they can still go back and choose any of the older 100 point clear menu's, because if they fulfilled the requirement of the "100-points with the g-sword clear" on their 9th clear (that's 900 points), they should be able to go back and choose that weapon.
So this makes me realize two things.
One is that we really need to
specifically keep track of our points. Each individual needs to remember how they got their points, as well as how much. It's good that we do this now and catch up with each individual character, or when we actually do get to the point where we need to do it, it's going to be a train wreck.
So, for example, I'll count each amount of points I got for each alien kill and how I killed them.
"I killed one alien on mission two with my X-rifle. That's 5 points with the X-rifle."
Do that for every kill you ever got with that character. The total amount of points is already being tracked. So we don't really need to worry about that.
Now, either each person can do this for their characters, or each mod can go through each of the missions and do this for all the characters in their region. It's probably better if each person does it for their own characters.
It's easy, you make a thread in the region that your character belongs. Something like:
"*Insert name of character*'s Point thread"
Then you just specifically list your points.
Mission 1:
5 points here, when killing this alien and using this weapon. Then put a link to the thread and page where that happened to prove it.
Mission 2: Blah blah blah.
Then just do a total point count, and if you've cleared the game put how many times and what you used your 100-points('s) on.
This way when you try to get a certain weapon, you can specifically decide if you qualify with less work needed. As you would only need to count up the points that you earned a certain way to fulfill the requirement, etc.
Another example: If it's the Gantz special you would count up all the points that you've earned using either the G-sword, X-rifle, H-gun, or Y-gun. If they add up to 600 then bam, you unlocked that weapon on the 600-point menu. Get it? They would, in order to unlock the 600 point menu, get 6 clears. But to unlock the weapon itself, their total amount of points via those 4 weapons need to add up to 600. So you wouldn't count points earned via any other way when deciding whether or not you qualify. If you qualify for both options, then all you need is a clear in order to choose from the 100-point menus and claim your weapon.
I'll make one for Blaine.
And the other thing is that we really do not need point menu's outside of 700 (7 clears). Because even if someone gets 700 points, the chance of them getting 700 and unlocking all of the weapons is nearly 0. Meaning people can be on their 12th clear, and still not have unlocked a weapon that is worth 600 points, due to having to fulfill a certain requirement to get it.
Also, all original Gantz weapons should not require anything but a clear. Meaning no matter how you got your points, the only thing required to unlock the Advanced suit, H-gun, Flying bike, or Mecha is simply getting the amount of points required. This isn't a problem though, as that's exactly how Dawg-X made them.
