Kurono vs Izumi
Only using Gantz Swords and just 1 Kurono.

What about the Gantz suit?
If they don't have the Gantz suit, then Izumi wins.
If they both have the Gantz suit, then Izumi wins, but with a lot of difficulty. With the Gantz suit Kurono has more of a chance, but Izumi's still stronger.
Also, exactly where are they fighting? And are they blood-lusted at the very beginning (trying to get a kill in as soon as the fight starts) or is this like a spar?

They are both trying to kill each other. On top of a building. Both have suits.

Izumi I'd say because his only weapon was ever his sword. His mastery of this must far exceed Kurono.

^ this.
If they had any other long range weapon then Kurono would win. But just swords? Izumi is the sword master, his only rival would be Hikawa. Kurono's good really good. But yeah the conditions here are in Izumi's favour. Unless Kurono runs away and jumps rooftops.

Even if Kurono jumped over the rooftops, he'd get torn apart afterwards. As much as I love Kurono, he couldn't beat Izumi. :T

well u may consider it from a different angle. While its true that izumi is the better swordsman, kurono has the "will to survive" as it has been stated by the old man in the manga. Having only swords doesnt mean that they are the only ways one can kill the other. Izumi would resort by its skill and technique in the sword but this isnt a tournament, kurono might use some dirty tricks or do something completely unpredictable, or simply survive for himself waiting for a chance to appear like he has done so many times over in the manga...

Yes, but his will to survive wouldn't let him survive. Albeit, he may mortally wound Izumi, he would not be alive if Izumi died from the blow. Kurono's will to survive didn't help him when he fought the "Golden Shiva" boss. He got an arm cut off and a leg eaten away. He may have been weaker then, but Izumi's sheer skill is much higher than Kurono's. I'm also going to assume that this is before Kurono went onto the aliens' ship, too. Because it was made over a year ago.

Yeah. I don't think there are any tactics Kurono can use that Izumi can't counter. Kurono's not a master tactician or strategist and his only usable weapons are his sword and body.
The only plan I see Kurono using is maybe popping the suit caps. But once again, I don't see Izumi letting him. It would take some very careful planning to get that done and he'd definitely have to utilize his environment and get up close. It's an extreme long shot.

You know when I think about it. In comparison using only the Oni boss as an example really Kurono was the stronger of the two in that battle.
Izumi faced Lightning Oni one on one and couldn't even make Oni tired. While Kurono on the other hand was just barely missing his stikes and making the Oni somewhat try when while fighting Izumi he wasn't.
Kuronos suit also lasted longer and he actually did some damage.

Kurono was being fueled by his desire to bring Tae back, though. Remember, something like that usually acts better than steroids in any anime. For references, see Naruto, Rurouni Kenshin, and Pokémon. Those are just from the top of my head, mind you. There's many more.

Oni went all out against Izumi. The entire time he was doing lightning strike after lightning strike, and Izumi could only stay on the defensive. It's actually pretty amazing that Izumi survived the attack. Hikawa specifically told Oni not to hold back.
Oni only used lightning three times (after Izumi's defeat). Twice against the entire team and once against Kaze. Kurono wasn't in the same situation as Izumi. By the time he fought Oni alone, Oni was hit by Kaze like twice or so and Oni didn't let out a full barrage against Kurono like he did Izumi. Oni went hand to hand instead.
As for why Oni didn't, I hypothesized it as Oni being tired at that point. He had already used a shit-ton of lightning against Izumi and then three times more after that. Maybe he was out of juice against our lucky protagonist.
