Until about 8 months ago, I played competitive Brawl and was really good at it. I do not find tier lists ever to be accurate and only go by matchups.

I was playing competative too the first year it was out. But I fell apart from my tournement buddies due to my crazy ex girlfriend who would never let me leave to go play. I still have skill though, ask mundus. He's a testiment to that.

There were a bunch of people on Allisbrawl who told me I was the best Ike on the site. Also when Brawl first came out, I beat Ally in friendlies on Allisbrawl haha. I beat his Snake with both Ike and Link.

I got hooked on Smashboards and we had an affiliate called SSBBrawl domain. I'm a Falco, Marth and MK only player.
And no it's not because of the tiers. I just felt every character out that way before the tiers came out. Then all of a sudden each of them made top tier.
I like using Ike too, but his weakness is his speed. I usually short hop his forward air attack and it connects just like marths does with no slowdown. But it has to be a short hop.

I've been on Smashboards mainly for Melee. For Brawl, I stuck to Allisbrawl and Gamebattles. As for characters, I use everyone. My best is tied between Ike and Link followed by Marth. After that it's a battle for fourth with Falco, Fox, Snake and Meta Knight. When I first started, I was best with Meta Knight but it quickly switched.
All this talk makes me want to play again. You up for it? Lol.

I would be if I still had my Wii. It kinda sorta broke. And it wasn't able to read dual layer discs like Brawl or metriod prime trology. I would get it back but I'm sure if my ex sold it, broke it more, gave it away or not. How can you play with Link? He's gimped so easily and his recovery is terrible. Oh Zero Suit Samus, I can own with Zero suit samus.

Link is not gimped as easily as people think when the right person plays him. His recovery is nothing to brag about, but Link can survive at high damage with good enough DI (I've lived past 200% damage in competitive battles against Snake). His variety of projectiles and good melee mix up make him the most versatile character in the game. Also, I've been maining him since 64 and I suppose I've been very good with him since.
