any opinion's on the series I mean really Ive always like it (the Japanese version clearly is much more bad ass than the English dub) I feel like the first 2 season's were really good then it just sucked afterwords but I really like the idea of an eternal struggle where history repeats itself which is basically the plot of Yu-gi-oh
but ya.... discuss

Yes it's one of my favorite series of all time and I have to agree with you on the first series after the first two story arcs the show kinda sucked; except the final season which was in my opinon the best season of the show. (the following are based on me viewing the japanese sub since after I watched the final season of the first in japanese I swore to watch all spin offs in japanese)
But out of all the shows GX is my favorite. Yes I do get constant shit from my friends when I say this but I liked how GX dealt with it's characters and season three and four of GX are by far the best arc of all the yugioh series. I mean Judai practically duels GOD in season 4
5d's was fairly good and was far better than I thought it was going to be and Yusei has to be the most badass out of all the protaganist's but the ending was kinda just like well guess what shows over-WAIT WHAT BUT THERE STILL MORE QUESTIONS AND PLOT POINTS YOU HAVEN'T ANSWERED YET.Well at least the next show has to be as awesome as this one.
And for Zexal FUCK THIS SHOW AND NO MORE SPIN OFFS UNLESS THE WRITERS ACTUALLY FUCKING TRY NEXT TIME. GOOD GOD.

I liked it, up until they were battling on that blimp in the original series. After that, I stopped watching the series. My favorite character has to be Joey, because he comes from Brooklyn. And his Brooklyn Rage gets stuck in my head monthly. s:
Decent series, but it died too early.

Don't like the show at all. Love the card game itself, though. I didn't like the whole "lol, fate of the world based on a card game, XDXDXD" plot. If they had magic and monsters, then it should have just been like pokemon, they shouldn't have to conform to a "let's sit here and take turns" rule. Oh wait....Well, the pokemon games are like "let's sit here and take turns". Not sure about the anime though. Terrible example either way.
But that's actually not what I want, either. I want it to be a card game that uses strategy and some luck. It'll just be a popular card game -like poker, let's say, that has a twist to it because it shows holographic manifestations of the cards to make it less boring. No shadow games, no stupid magical items that only allow you to use magic if you take turns playing a card game.
=/
I also would have preferred if it were like a dark slice of life kind of thing. Like, the dangers that make the show interesting are actually just normal dangers in life. Accidents, murders, rape, debts, etc. Shit that happens all the time. They tried it in the show, too, but it was still too childish, and nothing really ever happened that was that permanently fucked up. Anyway, I don't play the card game anymore because I really don't have a lot of people to play it with. So mostly I'll play a Yu-Gi-Oh! video game every now and then and that's enough for me. Plus it costs loads of money to build decks that have lots of different kinds of cards in them.
Edit: Oh, yeah, and FUCK the heart of the cards. Ugh. Talk about plothelp. "lololol, I BELIEVE and THEREFORE my DECK will CHEAT AND ALLOW ME TO HAVE THE CARD I NEED TO WIN."
Edit 2: My favorite card is Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon. >=)

My favorite card is Jinzo.
And believe it or not I was one of the top yugioh players in canada. I think I was 25th ranked in the nation in 2003 and going back and forth from 1st and 2nd in the province of saskatchewan.
I won about 30 sanctioned tournements.. Then my rival baught me out of the game in late 2004 (I sold my main deck for $350) and I never looked back. We competed for a lifestyled millenium puzzle trophy one season, but I lost because I was playing a pyro deck (stupid) instead of my machine/fiend deck.
I was supposed to get 2 boxes of cards mailed to my house but never came. I also had 2 mechanical chasers and only 4 of which existed in the province. And a couple pages worth of secret rare cards.
So yeah...
I really liked the show I missed everything after the battle city stuff and just caught the end when yami dueled yugi. And I loved GX wish I could have seen the whole series though.

Jinzo's my second favorite. Fucking hate trap cards.
My third favorite is Relinquished.
My fourth is Obelisk The Tormentor, the blue version that doesn't actually say it has any effects, and as such, I disregard them. Too hax for my taste. Though, the "this card cannot be used in a duel" on this version of the card is seriously annoying. I mean, taking away any special effects it has, the only real hax about this card is that you only need to tribute two monsters for a card with 4,000 attack/defense. But it's still not that hax otherwise. This version should be a mandatory card, not one the opponent has a choice to disregard.

Good GOD man. Your like a Yu-Gi-Oh Duelist.........GOD if you will. My favorite card has to be......Chain Energy. I LOVED that card. I really love any card(s) that damage the opponents life points. I like residual damage. Same with Pokemon. As for the series I stopped when the whole Noah thing came into play. I caught a few episodes after that and the final duel. GX I stopped after season 1. 5D's I just couldn't get into. Zexal I'm not even going to try.
