Woah, woah, woah. She's like 12 years old man. That's way too old.
Nah, but I don't mind being called gay. It won't change the truth. Only the perception of it.

....well im a homo so id welcome ya with open arms Fayrra and i dont understand why people use the term "gay" as an insult? The slang started out as a derogatory term for homosexuals, since the word gay meant "happy" and you know how some homos were very flamboyant and stuff. As time went on, it evolved from a slang derogatory term into a term to mean "lame" or "stupid." In a similar way "Brownie" turned into "nigga." Except, nigga is a lot worse (not a lot worse than "Brownie" but a lot worse than "gay") because a lot of people still take offense if a white person says it. Despite the fact that it hasn't nothing to do with that anymore. I use the term gay to mean "lame" or "stupid" every once in a while, as well. It's not really a big deal. Words are just words, sounds that resonate with your brain. The meaning behind said words is what matters. If the word has evolved to mean something, then that's what it means. Doesn't matter what it was originally used for. If, for example, "gay" was never made into a word to mean "happy" and instead made into a word to mean "lame" at first, then that's what it would mean. Words change, and when they change so does the meaning. It's a good thing that the word changed from an insult mostly used for homosexual people to an insult now mostly used for anything in general. Wouldn't you agree? Also, now somehow it officially (by definition) means homosexuals- mostly males. If you accept that definition change, then you should definitely accept the "gay means insult to anything instead of just homosexuals" one. Since it has the same basic principle behind it; an evolved meaning. After all, in the case of gay meaning homosexual, it evolved from gay meaning happy. Clearly you see the connection there, as I pointed out in the beginning of my post. But that's not what the word means anymore when you say the official meaning of gay. It means not happy, or cheery, but homosexual. If you don't take offense to that (which you shouldn't), and don't question that, you shouldn't be questioning the slang evolution of it, either. Since all the slang means is: something stupid. im not 12! jeez. always bringing my age up in here. just because im the youngest active member on the site. >_> I know you're not twelve. I didn't know you were the youngest one here, though.

You do realize that the only thing I explained was the evolution/differences of a word and its meanings, right? What, do you want me to post links to definitions or something? That's about all I "cited" when composing my explanation. I mean, it's pretty fucking obvious that I would have to use definitions in order to explain the meaning behind words and how they differ, durr hurr.
Or, maybe you actually think I just copy-pasted that explanation and that I have no idea what I'm talking about?
Edit: Here this should make it more simple;
"Why is gay an insult?"
So, we have one definition.
Gay = Insult.
I know from other definition websites that gay = happy, and then homosexual- mostly males. I immediately see the connection between the two. And thus, the 3rd definition.
Gay = insult to homsexual males. Since they act happy.
From here on it's all too easy:
Gay = happy turned into Gay = Homosexuals- mostly males.
Gay = Insult to homosexual males turned into Gay = Insult.

Lol obviously I was stating that your post on something so trivial was as boring as a research paper, guess I failed at getting my point across. Either that or your just think people want to read all that rubbish.

I don't care what people want to read. The truth is the truth. If I cared what people wanted to read, the truth would be so far from the list of things wanted half of the time. Like you, a lot of people think that the truth is rubbish. I don't. So I'm going to type it.

This has nothing to do with truth. However, here's a little truth for fanatics, long posts like those are boring. Especially when all it concerns is you hypothesising and going out of your why to debunk and explain shit that no one in god's green earth gives a damn about.
Other than that, you can type on till your heart's content. Reason being, I'm not trying to stop you from doing something your good at. I'm just the messenger who's been sent to tell you that your wasting your time, because 9/10 no one's reading that shit lol

This has nothing to do with truth. Yes it does. I told the truth. It took me a paragraph or so to tell the truth. You say it's boring. I say I don't care; I told the truth. Whether it takes me a few words or an entire book, I'm going to tell the truth; I'm not here to entertain. I'm just the messenger who's been sent to tell you that your wasting your time, because 9/10 no one's reading that shit lol It was only meant for 1 person to read it. Since I was answering his question. And once again, I don't care if long posts are boring, I needed it to tell the truth. I wanted to tell the truth. So that's what I did.
