Basically they condenced the first three missions, added some of the new team in, and made kishimoto do shit for once. Oh and kei isn't an ass... Yup. I pretty much gave him the jist of it on Fbook. I just hope he watches it. MAYBE WITH HIS GF!!!

Renan a girlfriend? My boys growing up!
And I just got to the Buddha mission. After being bored with Tae just like I was in the manga. And the awesomeness of Katou and his brother having thier own place at the start! I was diaaapointed with 8 players starting the buddha mission! Jesus! No sei, No Jyuzo Togo! No Karate man! No gun Otaku and No punks. We get a pretty boy, the priest, a new girl and one punk/gun otaku.
I know theres the two big statues and the boss to expect but I don't have hopes for much people being alive. We'll see.
I also like how Kei is acting. Getting bloodthirsty like he did in the manga during this part.

ren has had a gf for a while dude.
Anyways, i think that besides missing sei, we wern't missing out on too much, but it would have had more of an impact cuz then he would be cheating on tae....
I sure as hell hope the pritty boy isn't hojo or inaba, that would be fucked.

Hey yeah, forgot to bring that up. Who is that guy at the end meant to be that's there with Kurono and the Old Man? Is it a taller Sakurai?

That better not be fucking sakurai.
On that note, since we now have seen the first movie, who is ready for the second one?

Okay, aside from the Aliens, I hated the character portrayals in this thing. They really couldn't get the guy playing Kato to comb his hair back? And what was up with Tae? That was not a plain looking girl.
Also, the Buddha Hunt was a major let down. I was expecting to see all these guy fighting off multiple statues with a heart pounding sense of drama. Instead I was bored throughout the entire damn fight.
They should honestly just turn Gantz in to a Live Action TV show. It'd work better that way.

I thought that too, Xeno, but the budget would have to be huge.

Well if you cut the movie down into 6 differant parts. 3 for part 1 and 3 for part 2. It would be pretty much like a TV series. Thats the vibe I was getting from it too.
Other than the character representation being totally out of wack. I liked the hell out of this. Might be just because I'm too much of a Gantz freak (probably it). I could nit pick the hell out of it and write a scene by scene comparison between this and the manga, or anime. (sounds like a fun future project). But I'm lazy. Atleast they tried to stay somewhat close.
The 2nd movie looks too fucked up though. Why do the anime and live action hate the Chibi alien mission so much? Do they have to stray from the canon up until this part? And kei has like less than 20 points right? How the hell is Nishi and Katou going to come back? And Tae is going to be a member? WTF!
Thats all I got for now.

Ugh...just ugh.. But u have to realize that the movie is building its own.."path" if you will. I dont see any aliens in the next movie tho BUT it looks like theres going to be a Hunt Tae mission. Plus a Vampire fight scene AND it looks like Kato and Nishi get revived somehow..

Oh yeah, just remembered: you know the bit where Tae shows Kurono her drawings? Did anyone else think that the art style was a lot like that of Oh! Great, the mangaka who writes Tenjho Tenge and Air Gear? I'm thinking/hoping he drew it.
EDIT: Coincidentally it's Oh! Great's birthday today.

Tenjo tenge was one of my favorite series ever. Nagi ft!
It was pretty cool how good her manga was. Much better than the tae IN the manga that never shows us. Tae is just as boring as her LA counterpart though.
I liked the part where Kurono was testing his suit and before he jumped he suddenly got a phone call. Those scenes testing the jumps were so matrix like it was sick. Prabably my favorite part aside from thousand hands slicing people up. And Kishimoto sending the onion dad flying with one kick and then a slide.
Whats your favorite parts guys?

Kishimoto's slide has to be up there. Kurono's jumps were great, but... 1) I would have liked to see a HUGE jump and 2) I would have preferred to see it in the Onion Mission. Katou standing up on the manhole cover about to help Nishi against Tanaka was great - the setting was different to in the manga, but the feel was the same. The Y-Gun capture! Kurono fighting the giant Buddha!
As for least favourite parts... well, Katou's backstory was changed unecessarily and made less sense (what was Ayumu doing whilst Katou was in juvie?) and he got no awesome parts. Why couldn't he and 100 Arms have killed each other like in the manga?! I guess 'cause Kurono has to be shown to be as big a bad-ass he himself thought he was in order for the others to be justified in believing in him... But still!
My favourite moment? When Movie Kurono did the thing that Manga Kurono would have done IF A) he and Katou had the slightest bit of sense and exchanged addresses B) Manga Kurono wasn't a high-schooler and (most importantly) C) Manga Kurono wasn't a douchebag.
That's right!! When Kurono turned up on Ayumu's doorstep!!

Katou standing up on the manhole cover about to help Nishi against Tanaka was great - the setting was different to in the manga, but the feel was the same. The Y-Gun capture! Kurono fighting the giant Buddha! Yeah I would have expected the jump to be in the onion mission but I'm still glad they included it. The way he jumped and then jumped further gave me a whole new feeling in regards to him exploring his new powers. Then when he was going to go building the phone rang. Hey kei what are you doing? Nothing just jumping 30 feet in the air with my super suit. lol And concerning the Tanaka Alien. He was cool even though there was just one. The Tanaka mission is my favorite mission. I'm glad they stayed true to Nishi's death. My only complaint about that is how awkward and funny the Tanaka looked when he was punching and pummeling the players to death. But maybe thats what the directers were going for seeing how silly Tanaka looks anyway. I'm really glad they kept the slimy bird inside him too. Would have been cool to see the boss in an aerial battle, and wtf at the Rocket boots? As for least favourite parts... well, Katou's backstory was changed unecessarily and made less sense (what was Ayumu doing whilst Katou was in juvie?) and he got no awesome parts. Why couldn't he and 100 Arms have killed each other like in the manga?! I guess 'cause Kurono has to be shown to be as big a bad-ass he himself thought he was in order for the others to be justified in believing in him... But still! Katou not killing the boss was very dissapointing. Let Kurono kill giant Buddha but don't turn him into a Goku who has to steal the show. He also got his legs sliced up by the 1000 arms, yet only katou and Kishimoto died from it. That makes no fucking sense. Did his suit magically heal after he believed in himself? He had to steal the spotlight. I figured once he was down he was going to stay down. gah And douchebag Kurono was the shit, I must be the only person who liked that part of him in the manga. Atleast at the start, it showed great character development.

I am just wondering why Kato and Kishimoto were more badass here......
Anyways, they really needed BIGGER jumps in the movie, rarely pressed on the suits potential.
