Okay, lol. Here I go. Also, just for the hell of it, I'll put them whether they are minor or major because I just don't give a fuck about what the title says. And, I'm not necessarily going to say these people shouldn't have died, but rather I would have liked it if they survived mainly because I liked them and I'm biased. Because I think that the dying factor is actually a highlight in Gantz:
From the Onion Alien mission:
The yakuza guy in the suit. I don't know but he seemed pretty cool. And the way he took his gun and shot the alien after getting his arm cut off was pretty cool. He's one of the ones that I would have liked to see get used to the suit and become a veteran. Also, I think he has potential to use that suit on the outside and rise up as a yakuza boss, etc. And to me, that would be an interesting or cool story.
From the Buddha statue mission(where practically everyone died):
Sei Sakuraoka. Aww man how I wuved her. She definitely had potential to be one of the more stronger characters. She almost took down the boss with her bare hands...or I guess I should say legs/feet in this case. She took Kei's virginity and was hot.
Kei Kishimoto simply because of her hawtness and the fact that she made the story more interesting. Ya know, how she cock teased Kurono, etc. But she's one of the ones that I definitely don't think shouldn't have died. But rather I just kind of liked her a lot.
The famous model dude. He had cool potential. Whatever "cool potential" even means.
The rice dog. Moar-lick-of-the-vagina's. It would have been cool to seem him lick Reika's. lulz.
And last but not least the Sniper guy. Talk about cool, calm, and just plain out bad ass. That guy was just awesome. Plain and simple. Another person who I would have liked to see become a veteran.
And from the Osaka mission:
Oka-Just plain out awesome. And I would have liked to see him fight more. I wouldn't even mind if Oku made a mini-series for the Osaka group. Like Oka's life, how he died and his missions in Gantz up till the most recent one where he died. That'd be awesome. Seriously, I'll cum in my pants Oku did that.
That's really about it for the minor.
Here's the major characters:
Nishi. Mainly because.....well, I'm not sure. I would have liked to see him in the missions and liked him to see how Kei changed and became bad ass. I kinda like Nishi. But like Kishimoto, he's another one who I don't think shouldn't have died, but rather I just like him.
Izumi. Because of his mind set. It's exactly how mine would be if I were in Gantz. He likes the rush and excitement. Like a dare devil almost. He wants to stay in the room and likes fighting. Etc. Another one that I don't think shouldn't have died, but I liked him.
And last, but not least, Kato. I would have liked to see him in other missions and I like him as a character. And I would have liked to seem him watch Kurono change into a bad ass as well. Though the last time he saw him in that mission he already sort of saw him be bad ass. He's another that I don't think shouldn't have died but I just liked.
There might be more, but I can't remember right now. When I reread Gantz I'll update probably.
Oh and now that I think about it Kishimoto might be considered a major character. Oh well. I'm too lazy to change it now.

Katou and Nishi are still alive man. I think you know this and are just reminising about thier deaths but just wanted to point that out...
I also need to re-read to catch some peaple but I sure did feel the same way you did about most of them. Except maybe Kishimoto, because I was kinda sorta glad when she died. It was decent closure for her romance with Katou and I didn't like that she was a tease for my main man Kurono.
Katous death was likely the biggest hit the series had given me though. Then Izumi, when you think about it. Oh and Oka.

Katou and Nishi are still alive man. I think you know this and are just reminiscing about their deaths but just wanted to point that out... lol. Yeah, I know. But I was just trying to say that I would have liked for them not to die the first time because I want to see them in the missions that they missed out on. Mainly because I like them. However, I did sort of contradict myself because I said I also think that they should have died because I like death and find it as a highlight in Gantz. But that's what I call an "okay contradiction." In other words I like it either way. Them dying and them living. Which is why I said that I don't think they shouldn't have died. Because that would mean I don't like them dying. And yeah, I know, I'm pretty weird. lulz. I also need to re-read to catch some peaple but I sure did feel the same way you did about most of them. Except maybe Kishimoto, because I was kinda sorta glad when she died. It was decent closure for her romance with Katou and I didn't like that she was a tease for my main man Kurono. lol. Mabye it's just because I like having my cock teased and Kurono is one of my favorite characters so..........but I guess he doesn't really like it in that sense. And besides, I think it set a great emotional rift in the show. So pretty much that feeling that you got from her being a cock tease, I like it. Kurono wanted her but couldn't have her. Like I said, I'm weird.

People dying in Gantz is most likely it's best asset. It gives you sence of anything can happen.
