Very good port. While holding the gamecube controller you find that you always want to use the c stick like you would in Brawl or Melee but realise it does nothing. Besides that it controls the same as a 64 controller imo.
I unlocked Captain Falcon and Ness within the first 15 minutes. I love how throws are so powerful in this game and the items are much more potent and fun. Sure the graphics haven't aged too well but the nice floaty mechanics are there which make timing your item throws so damn sweet.
For some reason I'd rather play this than Melee or Brawl right now. Is there something wrong with me? Or is this game that much of a classic? Not much else to say. Just wanted to add a topic to the smash section of our lovely forum.

Personally I perfer Melee because to me that game require more skills than Brawl or 64. Now I like SSB64 but there just wasn't enough characters for me. Melee came along and brought some new faces along with better controls. I still play Melee to this day.

I play all 3. I've played all 3 to death. Melee is the most competative and advanced out of them for sure. Brawl is too but not as complex. Still the physics in Brawl and 64 I've always liked.

I like the smash ball and the specials in Brawl but people rely on them in Brawl.

I don't play with items in Brawl or Melee. Too overpowered, and just plain annoiying.
