To be honest I wouldn't care for a Gonzo continuation if it's made by the exact same people. They butchered the anime. I'm not just talking about the filler ending, either. Here, let me just copy paste something I wrote a while ago on another forum:

I don't know about a re-make or a new one. I would love to see the Osaka mission in anime form. At the same time I know that it would be butchered horribly. So it's kinda of 50/50.

Hell, if its animated and gantz, i'll take it.
Plus with OAD format, the story would not be butchered as badly as it was during the original tv broadcast. There would be no need to censor gore or nudity (anime still does that, look at queen's blade and highschool of the dead) and each disk provided will hold 4 episodes or a 1:30 to 2 hour mini film that captures one or two arcs/hunts. IN other words, a limited running time that allows them to hit all major plot points with out the filler crap. The tv show was still under pressure due to the fact that it was still making episodes at the rate of the manga. Apparently, the end of the buddha mission for anime and manga was roughly in the same week, so you can see the deadline strain.
Many anime have survived and thrived off of OAD format, when packed with the manga itself, especially if the manga is ending. Black Lagoon, Durarara, Deadman Wonderland, Saiyuki, Higurashi, Sayanara Zetsubou Sensei, xxxHOLIC and Tsubasa chronicle made major bank by producing major story arcs through OAD format while their series hit major landmark arcs or endings. Its a good promo move for both the animation companies and the manga publishers. Its cheaper than making movies, they arn't really rushed on them, and they are working directly hand in hand with the manga publishers so not much is lost from the story.
They could format it like this Chibi/Class Murder - Disk 1 Izumi/Dino -Disk 2 Ring/Tae - Disk 3 Oni - Disk 4 Kurono vs Vamps/Nurari - Disk 5 (This one is gonna be condensed, but thats not bad...) Italy/Intro to Katastrophe - Disk 6
Assuming these all come out at roughly 2 hours a pop, thats 12 hours of gantz right there, aka a 24 episode run or a 2-cour series of gantz. That sounds appealing, eh?

The way the dvd's were spaced out in the first anime, Disk 1 Onion, Disk 2 Tanaka, disk 3 Buhhda, Disc 4 filler mission/ending.
So relatively I'd want it to go Disc 1 Chibi, Disc 2 Dino, Disc 3 ring/tae, Disc 4 Oni. Thats the full Blue phase all in one season really.
If you guys have an account on any of those sites please help out. I'm going to link this on the main page too. I'd much rather have an anime than not have an anime. I swear the day I see an animated Chibi Alien I'll die a happy man. This is the best time to do it too. With the movie having done great and even better in japan, and with the manga sales skyrocketing this could really be a possibility for concideration.

Thank you so very much for making this post and at the moment im trying to get my self more adjusted to the website so sorry if i havent been contributing very much :/
As for the campaign guys 1 thing did change and that was the belief of the animation studio. What i mean here is that our Goal isnt just to attract Gonzo anymore but any studio who is willing to create a new Gantz anime in the image of Oku such as Madhouse who many believe could accomplish that. Though it doesnt matter who animates it imo as long as we get a Gantz continuation or remake it would all be fine. So please if you have a facebook come like the page and if you dont it would be very much appreciated if you made one just to like the page. Lets do our best to try to spread the word in hopes to see a new Gantz anime in the future.

Hey everyone its Darkfoxteam first i would like to say thank you to Oka for creating the thread introducing you guys to operation countdown but for those who dont know this is a fan made group on facebook dedicated to trying to convince a Japanese studio whether its Gonzo the previous animation studio or a new one such as Madhouse to create a new Gantz anime. Here is the link to the FB Page: www.facebook.com/pages/Operation-Countdown-Gantz-Anime-Revival-Project/112342008867475By creating this Facebook page we are trying to get a lot of likes and try to create of lot of attraction online by spreading the word and promoting material to show that we are fans who want to see a continuation, remake, or OVA series based on Gantz/Minus while the manga progresses. The project is still in its early stages and we are considering contacting websites such as AnimeNewsNetwork and TeamFourStar to help spread the word though we have not decided on anything yet. At the moment if you guys want to help out in any way try creating a youtube video based on the campaign or just liking the facebook page is enough for us. If you guys have any sort of suggestions /ideas/beliefs don't hesitate to write them down below. Well i think ive written enough and i do apologize if i wasted some of your time. Though one last thing is want to say is that even if this project has only a slight chance of succeeding we want to do everything we can to try to make it succeed and we are willing to go through any obstacle so long as we try. Its better to have tried and failed then to do nothing at all. So once again thank you for your time.

Merged the topics. We only need one. But I have told lots of people to like the facebook page theres probably 10 likes because of me lol.
I mean an OVA of minus or any inclusion of minus would be nice. I agree whole heartily to ask team 4 star if you haven't already. they are synonymous with this kinda thing.

Oh alright Oka i apologize if i created any trouble by creating another post on this.
Also yea i personally believe an OVA of Minus would be great it would probably be the best way to restart the series so lets hope one is made. Also like i said i have been thinking about trying to contact Team 4 Star but sadly im not sure how to contact them properly so until i find a way i wont be contacting them anytime soon :/
