My girlfriend (princezpiech on the site) said that she sympathizes with this man, It's too insanely incomprehensibly too me that she would, what are your opinions? :

lol. Did she say exactly why she felt bad for him?
Also, I do have a bit of sympathy for all psychopaths in general. It's widely considered that psychopathy is not something you can fix.
Not only that, but personality in general is considered mostly inherent and due to nature. And rather permanent. If personality can be changed, it's still not something that applies to everyone, and having a changeable personality is still widely dependent on ones inherent nature. So being able to have a choice is, in itself not a choice. Nurture plays a part as well, but A; is given way more credit than it should and B; has more affect when someones young- which is a time when it's not their fault even more.
So, I immediately feel bad for anyone who has a personality that would lead them to be psychopaths. Because it's just bad chance that they came out that way...in a world where psychopathy and murdering is frowned upon. Shit, not just frowned upon, is taken very seriously and takes their entire life away because of it.
That being said, obviously any sane person will say that psychopaths logically still need to be stopped, and I'd generally agree..but that doesn't stop me from feeling bad for their situation in general.

lol. Did she say exactly why she felt bad for him? Yea. She basically said what you said in simpler terms. So I guess this topic was pretty one sided off the get go, But in my opinion, one being close to tragedy as I have, could in no way sympathize, espicially since the sheriff who had all the power to torture this man, let justice overcome his personal feeling's for his mother. Just my opinion.

So I guess this topic was pretty one sided off the get go Do you mean that a lot of people think like your girlfriend and I do? Because, honestly, I really don't think a lot of people think like we do on the subject at all. At all. But in my opinion, one being close to tragedy as I have, could in no way sympathize, I don't necessarily think it's a question of not being able to relate or understand (just in case that was your implication). It usually is. But in my case, I would hate the person who killed my very close loved one (though I doubt I'd call my mom anything close to that- I have no one currently in fact that I'd call that), and feel no sympathy for him (well, to a certain extent. I, for example, would never condone long/infinite torture, and would sympathize with anyone who would ever have to experience anything over 10 years of torture, no matter the person). However, if there is another psychopath out there then I would feel sympathy for em, because the person the psycho killed, while I would feel bad for them too, in all actuality I don't care about that person enough to hate another and completely disregard the fact that they didn't choose to be the way they are. I care about both, the person who died, and the killer, about the same. It's not that I can't relate, it's that I have no reason to actually care that much about another random person.

It's not that I can't relate, it's that I have no reason to actually care that much about another random person. I think about things in a similar fashion, regarding cases such as psychopaths, criminals, victims of crimes, etc. However, I'm much more... "let loose", persay, than you are, FayfayFuck. I'm indifferent to people committing homicide or torturing people. However, I feel more... "attached" to psychotic people that like to torture/murder/eat people. I can't exactly place why, but it's an odd attraction that makes me want to inform myself further on the subject out of pure intrigue. But, when I hear about the government using drones around countries that end up shooting children and leave them missing limbs, or parts of their body, I get more... angry. All-in-all, as long as it's not the government's fault people are being killed or tortured - specifically children - I really don't care. But even then, I can look the other way in regards to genocide; the human race needs to be thinned out, we're overpopulated. I know I'm ranting on and getting off-topic, but yeah. I don't sympathize with him, but I want to delve into further research on him. How a person's mind gets warped from abuse they've sustained is very interesting. EDIT: I want him as a decorator for my room, it would really brighten the place up. :I
