His mother had her fair share of medals and trophies from her youth but never decided to pursue it any further at one point because Jun’s life took priority. From the moment that he could, his father began to instruct and teach him on the finer points of athletic events. This continued through his elementary, junior high, and high school years. After finishing his senior year, the scholarship letters came in and Jun decided to attend a more prestigious school as opposed to running for his father’s team. This decision lead to him severing connections with his family. The result was Jun moving out to his own place.
After only a single year of running at the university level, Jun was selected to represent Japan at the Olympic-level. This of course caused him to gain widespread fame and recognition for accomplishing such a feat. Not wanting to exclude them from it, Jun took the first trip back to Osaka to tell his parents. It was on his way there that he met his death.
