Personality:
Brett is very ambitious and surely that is the first trait that someone may notice in him. He is always grinning and has a face that looks as though he is always sure of what he is doing, even when he isn’t. Brett has no real interest in making friendship or having a girlfriend to develop a relationship. He will make friends only if they are useful to him or if he considers them equal with himself, and he will get a girlfriend just to release his sexual tension.
His goal in life has always been to be at the top. No matter where, in school, in sports he was always striking to be first. He is decisive in what he does. When he begins to do something he will stop at nothing to complete it. Brett likes to be in control of things. He is always aware of his situation and likes to know how a situation will unfold beforehand. He always plans in advance for anything, even when he dates a girl; he always knows where they will go and how much will the situation advance.
He is a great liar and he lies almost about anything. Brett finds himself bored with usually most of the things his ‘friends’ find interesting; be it a movie, a song or anything else in general. He always fancies himself better than others and finds this commercial hypnotism disgusting and insulting to his intelligence. That’s why he has to lie when somebody asks him a question or when he has to react in a social situation. He always responds as the social situation would normally require him to respond.
Finally, Brett is self-confident and has a high self-esteem.
Background:
Brett was born on the 21st September of 1987, the only child of Steven and Stephanie Harving. His father had a fairly steady job as an accountant while his mother was a math teacher in high-school. Life was normal for them and so it grew to be normal for Brett. His parents always maintained a “do your homework and you get what you want” stance with him. However it wasn’t because of this condition that Brett always excelled at studying; he had a knack for it.
Years passed and life only got better for Brett. His mother had her pay raised while his father got a promotion. It was the best period of life for his family as thirteen year old Brett was growing. He was highly intelligent and very popular in school, but he never strived for popularity, it just came to him naturally. Of course having picked up the guitar since when he was eight years old helped a lot, especially with girls. Brett liked this attention and he felt like he deserved it.
Time flew by fast and in two years Brett didn’t change much. It was when he hit fifteen that he started changing. Some may say it was because he was entering adolescence but Brett never showed any of the typical signs of an adolescent boy. He was not rebellious, he would not come home drunk or fall in his grades or leave a teenager girl pregnant. Brett began to grow bored. Suddenly all of his friends, all of this popularity he had, it didn’t matter anymore to him. He felt stupid that he had given importance to such things.
Brett began to slowly draw away from his social life. He would rarely go to parties, he would not talk much in school as he suddenly found all his friends talked about was boring and hitting sixteen he thought it was crap and he was repulsed when they talked with so much passion about the latest pop songs or the latest Harry Potter movie. Brett stayed more at home and he suddenly took an interest in computers.
He began learning more and more, reading books about programming, software development and learning every component of the computer and its function. Later he built his own PC and his parents were amazed but not Brett himself. He had found that too easy and a sudden thought came into his mind. His parents, who he had always respected and looked up to, they suddenly felt mediocre, like the rest of the human population. Brett was scared about this thought for days but began to grow accustomed to it.
Hitting seventeen and wanting to have something to do Brett began training his body at home and outside. He would do push-ups long cardio runs and lift weights in his room. He also took some online acting classes for a while and he wanted to test them. He ‘experimented’ on his friends and parents and he found this quite enjoyable, because he was faking it, and they were not catching his acting. That was a challenge for Brett and he found acting and faking his emotions kept him busy and not bored, for a while.
Hitting eighteen Brett entered to a real gym. He had also begun smoking and wanted to compensate his health somehow. He finished high school with the highest grades and got into MIT for Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. By the time he was twenty-one he had graduated with a degree for computer science and immediately got a job at a major Computer Company for software development.
Life was good. Brett had a high income, a separated place in Manhattan from his parents where he finally would not act anymore. He could just be himself and he could do what he wanted. But what was that Brett actually wanted? He found himself lost and without a goal in life. He hated people because most of them were trash, he wanted to change the world but he was powerless.
Oh how he wished to be special.
