Okay then. As much as we love Gantz, truth is, no manga is perfect. So this thread is for putting plot inconsistencies, contradictions, things that didn't make sense, and artist/drawing mistakes that the author made that you found and/or heard about. We aren't true fans unless we can realize Gantz's faults!
But wait, there's more!
You can also put things that you just didn't like (which can also include, but isn't limited to, the plot holes, etc.) So, it could just be something you didn't like, but isn't really any actual mistakes in the manga itself.
Not only that, but as an added bonus, if you have any questions regarding Gantz and the series post them here. And all the members will work together to try and come up with logical possibilities that could be an answer.
Also, I'm excited because I'm going to be re-reading the series from start to "finish" today. But when I'm doing it I'm going to be paying great attention to detail. So I'll be back and post later. Way later.
However, post anything that has been bothering you now. And maybe we can even spark some debates? Keep it civil-ish though. Have fun.
-Fayrra, out.

I really didn't like the explanation for Gantz that some fat chick who can't move is responcible for everything. It really didn't make much sense to me.
I also didn't like that Gantz started malfunctioning. I wanted more missions, no it seems like were not going back.
Thats about it for now.

I really didn't like the explanation for Gantz that some fat chick who can't move is responsible for everything. It really didn't make much sense to me. But it still hasn't fully been explained as to how or why she is responsible. So, we have to wait for the actual finish of the manga to call it a true plot hole. And it does make sense as to how the company used Gantz to make money. And I'm guessing that the fat girl is a medium or unlocked some secret physic power to allow her to create the formulas for Gantz. So it could be explained that way. I also didn't like that Gantz started malfunctioning. I wanted more missions, no it seems like were not going back. I agree with you there. But anymore and it might start getting repetitive. Which could be bad or good. Now, this is really a trifle thing, and could just be a translation error, however, during a scene in the tanaka mission, Kurono gets hit and then thinks: "I've never been hit before. That really hurts." However, he also has a flashback from when he was younger and in that flashback he was getting punched by a bully. Current time: stoptazmo.com/downloads/manga_viewer.php(Looks like the links do not work, I'll replace them later but the chapters are 43, and 282).Past memory: stoptazmo.com/downloads/manga_viewer.phpHe is, however, getting punched by someone with a boxing glove on but that punch was enough to make him bleed from his nose and mouth...so he should know what a hit feels like. There's probably more, but I'm pressed for time right now.

Seems to me it's Oku making plot mistakes. The mans human, it happens. Nice job spotting it out though. While re reading the manga I notice a few things that I now raise my eyebrow to, but then they soon escape my mind.
The worst thing about no more missions is that the players of the past stay dead. Goodbye Izumi, Kenzo, and Sei. And most of all Hoi Hoi. I fucking loved that Panda.

Seems to me it's Oku making plot mistakes. The mans human, it happens. Well yeah, but that's why you're supposed to review it over and over with your staff. The worst thing about no more missions is that the players of the past stay dead. Goodbye Izumi, Kenzo, and Sei. And most of all Hoi Hoi. I fucking loved that Panda. lol. To me, that's the best thing about no more missions. Because it was starting to seem like Dragonball for a moment. And, it makes their death a lot less important when they can be brought back. Also, I preferred Butter Dog. And there's been plenty of plot going on, the current plot is an invasion, and that's what has been happening. It's only realistic that Oku would show, you know, the aliens invading. =/ If he just rushes it, it won't look or feel real. The pace is perfect right now. It just feels boring and slow because we have to wait two weeks to get a chapter. But that's the chapter release pace, not the plot.

One thing I didn't like about Gantz was the lack of government involvement. Now, this could be done by Oku on purpose because if he reveals what the government knows, it may spoil the plot earlier than he wants. However, if the government are in the dark, then I wish it would show them and their discussions about events such as Oni and Osaka. If you want to know what I mean, look at mangas such as Akira, Bokurano, and Narutaru. These are all great examples of showing the government's perspective and involvement in things.
Also, another thing; about Kurono's death, why was he so stupid? He gets mad and runs toward Hikawa, even though he has a flashlight. A long range weapon. It's basically like an extremely long ranged sword that doesn't even require that much strength to swing. All he had to do was shine it on Hikawa. Instead he runs up close. WHY?
More shall come.

Another stupid part was when Kurono fought against the T-rex Dino without his suit. He incapacitates the Dino and is standing right in front of its mouth, when he sees its open mouth start to generate a fireball. What does he do? He runs directly away from the Dino in its line of sight and is STILL right in front of the Dino's mouth, so the Dino can just have a perfect shot right at him. Instead of running out of the Dino's line of sight to the left or right, where the Dino wouldn't be able to follow due to its incapacitation. =/ www.mangareader.net/97-1311-18/gantz/chapter-149.html

The only thing that I've really noticed that hasn't been mentioned is the fact that, after the Tanaka alien mission, Kurono doesn't remember anything past the giant bird picking him up, however, later on nobody seems to have that weird amnesia. Obviously, it was just taken out, but it was still odd at first.
Also, I hate the fact that the game was never released over here.

I really miss some of the old characters. Gantz should let the guys bring back some of them. The old man, the sniper guy from the Buddhist Statues mission or even Izumi could help.

Things i don't Like about Gantz, the pacing is pissing me off, and they really need to focus more on some of the characters besides kurono now. I mean EVEN more than they already have.
Oh and did i mention the pacing?

My only problem is that I feel like Oku has rushed Phase 2 to please all the fans by bringing Kurono back right after the first mission. I like where they were heading with Katou being the center character for a few missions but that never happened. Also it would have been cool to see what Host Samurai was doing in between missions. I wish the team would have leveled up, Hoi Hoi reviving Izumi (his 40 pts was a tease).
Would have been interesting if HS killed the 100 pointer just to see what would have happened. More coop missions with other teams would have been sweet before the Italy mission. Also more Gantz X Vampire team.
We need some more back story on the vamps. Givin the scale of this final phase, I just don;t see it happening yet. Maybe when the giants get killed off the vamps will be the final enemy.

Make Vampires appear in a Sci-fi Manga -> Explain nothing and make them go away a few story arcs later -> ? ? ? ? -> Profit! HS getting most of his crew wiped out, then going "Meh." and leaving always pissed me off. Also, I was pissed that he didn't take a suit. He doesn't need it, sure, but it would have been an advantage, and he doesn't seem like the guy to pass up free stuff. Vamps in general made me rage, since they were building to be the main enemy, then they just disappeared. Also, no explanation except for some bullshit involving nanobots(?) or something equally stupid. Izumi should be revived. I say so for the same reason Kurono brought back Nishi; As crazy as he was, he was useful. Anyone that suggests reviving Anzu can go die. She was useless and whiny, and fell for Katou mostly because he happened to be the main character. Another person in that category is Kishimoto. Like hell I'd give up an H-gun for Emo-Melons. I'd agree with whoever said they should show more "government involvement", whether it be the legit gov't, or those guys that controlled the Gantz balls. Also, huge thank you to whoever suggested focusing on people besides Kurono. We need some more Psychotic Cherry. He seems to be on the fast track to going Dark Jedi, and I like it.
