Imdb: A political thriller advancing the theory that it was in fact Edward De Vere, Earl of Oxford who penned Shakespeare's plays; set against the backdrop of the succession of Queen Elizabeth I, and the Essex Rebellion against her.
I've watched it and i must say i really enjoyed it. The director shows us this other side of Shakespeare's plays which i was not aware off. What did u guys think of it?

Is this movie a documentary, a docu-drama, or just a drama? If it's the final, I'd take its contents with a grain of salt. Having said that, I've not seen this movie.

just a drama, also the movie is obviously exaggerated to grab the audience and i think they've done a magnificent job, but the core contents the movie treats are true about shakespeare. This movie is not saying "this is what happened" like i said its just putting some thoughts on the viewer so he may make his own conclusion.

I should stop coming on here five minutes before I crash, I always misread things. I missed the words "theory" and "political thriller". Apologies.

I thoroughly enjoyed the film. We studied shakespeare in class and basically it came down to this. His plays were to hypnotize the audience. They were cheapish to get into, and were easy entertainment for the illiterate and poor. Basically he could fill your mind with anything he wanted to, philosophy or the plotting of the downfall of a government.
