This is the only non Wii game I'm hyping along with LFD2 and Dead Rising 2.
Looks really good.

I have it reserved already. Can not miss out on this game.
I loved CoD4 and played the hell out of it. I got all the achievements, even the fabled Mile High Club (ie. beating Mile High on Veteran... 1 minute to traverse 2 floors of an airplane and rescue a hostage). I'm so looking forward to kicking ass in new ways online.

I hope they keep the Dog attacks left over from World at War. That was my favorite thing about that game.
But thats the only thing they should take. Because Modern warfare was so good on it's own. Just needs a touch up.

Infinity Ward already said they weren't keeping the dogs or the vehicles from World at War. Which is a good thing because those are the main reasons I DIDN'T like World at War. That and it was just a cash cow for Treyarch since they don't have much else going on now-a-days... not that they ever really did.

I've seen and heard nothing about greatness from this game.
Must have.

Campaign: FUCKING AWESOME!!! Way better story than CoD4 and even has more "shock moments" than CoD4's nuke detonation (delayed spoiler alert but come on, if you haven't heard about it by now then you've just been living under a rock).
It only took me about 6 hours to complete the campaign but it was a rollercoaster ride the entire time. You're at a different location, doing something different every 30 minutes so it never gets boring. One minute you're stealthily infiltrating a base, the next you're racing on snowmobiles down a mountain, then you're chasing a guy on the rooftops of shanty houses, and then you're defending a Burger King against waves of enemies. It's just nonstop action!
And I only beat in on the Hardened difficulty which is the second hardest difficulty but I died a shitload of times. So I can only imagine what's waiting for me on Veteran difficulty.
Special Ops: This is a fun little mission mode that has you doing special missions and then gives you a rating based on how you did. Each mission gives you up to 3 stars and to get all 3 stars you must either complete the mission under their terms or just ramp up the difficulty.
The different missions have you surviving waves of enemies with only a sniper, or sneaking past an onslaught of patrolling troops to reach a destination without being seen, or fighting off an entire village of guerrillas and their cheating ass dogs, or raining down death from an AC-130 helicopter. It's really fun and it adds a different kind of challenge to the game.
The cool part is that it let's you replay some of the missions from CoD4 and some missions even give you additional info on what happens during the MW2 campaign through the eyes of other soldiers.
Multiplayer: The shining star of the game! The most major and most noticeable difference between this and CoD4 is all the unlockable stuff. I'm mean there's HUNDREDS of things to unlock from weapons, to attachments for those weapons, to perks and killstreak rewards, to customizable titles and emblems so that you can show off your achievements.
Also, killstreaks play a MAJOR part of the game now. You can customize your killstreaks so that you no longer have the traditional UAV - Air Strike - Attack Helicopter setup from CoD4. Now you can get a Predator Missile at 5 kills (remote controlled bomb dropped from the air), or a Pave Low at 9 kills (armored version of the Attack Helicopter), and even a Nuke Drop at 25 kills (kills all enemies and friends then ends the game). It really changes up the formula and gives you more reason to try to stay alive.
Overall, the game is REALLY fun and it has a lot of replayability. I can see this and Uncharted 2 fighting off for GOTY.

Woah Nuke drop sounds hardcore.
I played it today, the PS3 version for about 10 minutes at a friends house. I was at the ice/winter level and I was climbing the cliffs and everytime I made a jump I'd fall to my death until I realised you had to hold the buttons down.
I wish I had more time with it. I will eventually.

Campaign was short, though, and every other Call of Duty game sucks (this one being the better one).
