Don't know if any of you are fans of this anime/manga. Can't see how you couldnt have heard about it. I've seen anime movies part of the series with him growing up and read a little spinoff manga about it.
I remember this series being very bloody, you'd think this would be like Berserk turning live action. figured this interesting, thoughts?

Well this made my day.And I'm a huge fan of this show I own the the entire manga, show(the good dub that was on cartoon network not the shitty one called samurai x) and the three ova's the third was only in japanese though.
And yes the ova's were bloody as shit and the show could be just as bloody in certain parts kinda why it got canceled on cartoon network. And I will be searching for a decent fansub a couple of months after it comes out or get a hand on the japanese dvd when it comes out if it has english subtitles.

isn't Samurai X the 2 movies about before and after the series? i thought they were great! In america the OAV's were called Samurai X. They were never films, but were originally attached to the dvd or vhs releases as bonus supplements. The first one: Trust and Betrayal, was recently released again on bluray last year, and apparently is still considered to be one of the best OAV's ever, alongside FLCL. It basically covers the Tomoe flashback arc and was done after the initial run of the Kenshin anime. The second one: Reflection, was considered one of the WORST OAVs ever made. The animation and story was poorly done, and even the author of the manga, Nobuhiro Watsuki, had an immediate dislike of it, stating that IT IS NOT CANONAL, and the Yahiko one shot was the official ending to the series. That being said, Kenshin is one of the first animes I watched. In fact, my late grandfather used to watch the series with me, since he displayed a love for chanbara films and shows. The plot was great, the action was great, the music was great, and the pacing was well done. Happy to see this liveaction being done!
