Halfway through this one on episode 6. It's ok, nice animation and colour. Had some good fight scenes kinda dragonball esc in one. Watch it it's good up there for me. Nyuu!
edit: Also out of all the anime we have this one is certainly the most violent.

I liked it, though you will probably have to read the manga, as the anime doesn't finish.
It was pretty interesting, original, bloody and f*ed up. Though it is definitely a love story more than it is action, if I do say so myself. My favorite character is Bando. The only human who could really stand up to those crazy bitches.

Yeah hes great. I'm not done watching it as a few anime got in the way. But I heard the ending was dissapointing.
The gore makes up for the romance.

True. But I guess I kinda like the romance.
And also, if there is one thing that can make you feel emotions and fuck you up psychologically, it's romance. But of course, death and treating human life like it's nothing does a good job at that as well.
And I still recommend for you to read the manga. The ending is better than in the anime, that's for sure. Maybe. I don't know. It really just depends on your personal preferences so I can't say anything for sure. lol.

Of what I've seen and read, it's just a shock series with little soul. The character designs also bother me. Not a "mature" anime.

^ Not mature?
lol wut?
Could you elaborate a little bit?
And by what standards are you going by? What decides if it is mature or not?
Because rating wise, it's considered a mature manga. Hence it being Seinen.

Mature as in maturity, not how much shock or violence you add to make it's age rating high. It's like saying Grand Theft Auto is mature.

Now that we've established that, why do you say it's not mature?
Elfen Lied is a very serious manga. I'd say that's pretty mature. It has an interesting concept and it had a somewhat complete ending. I really can't understand how it's not "mature."

I just got done watching the anime on here. Thanks Ace for bringing it.
Anyways I think it's mature only for the gore. But maybe jura means it's not mature because all the main charcters are kids? And there is a bit more gore and violence than there needs to be.
But thats this animes apeal. I really got into it after the first fight between the two girls.

^ The whole main characters being "kids" can be it. But if you think about it they really don't act that immature for the situations they are put in.
And too much blood and gore? How's that supposed to mean it's immature? Once again, if anything that makes it more mature. There's not that many definitions of mature you know. As far as I can grasp there's really only two:
1st: Fully grown = mature.
Semi-1st: Older= More mature.
2nd: Wise decisions or actions = More mature.
That's about it, really. =/ So I still don't understand why it isn't mature as a manga.

I was all right with it. I didn't think it was deep or mature so much as it was really fucking sad. It didn't take itself very seriously, which was fine; however a lot of people do take it seriously. I'm torn between amusement and irritation.

finished the whole manga couple nights ago probly will start watching the anime overall decent series, ending was decent(ending was expected by me most series are predictable) I give it 4 out of 5 for not skipping on gruesome things and what I wanted to happen usally did or something better happened. the whole thing where the lucy when she turns into kyu(her otherself) and she's like mentally confused abut her environment so she does stuff that shes see's funny shit lol. but yeah the whole idea that these super human beings are nothing but kids that have real emotions kinda makes you wonder who the real monster is. anyway good shit thanks for referral
